Father & 2 Sons Arrested on CSC Charges
ALPENA, MI – A father and two sons all previously from Alpena have been arrested on criminal sexual assault charges.
James William Freese, 58-years-old, 29 year-old son Andrew Joseph Freese and James William Freese, Jr. were taken into custody in Mackinac County. The three men were brought back to Alpena County to face the charges.
James William Freese, Sr. is facing five counts of criminal sexual conduct (CSC) in the first degree. It is alleged that one count that he had sex with a girl under 13 years of age in 1990.
His son, Andrew Joseph Freese, is charged with two counts of CSC – 1st degree. His two charges stem from allegations that in September 2002 he committed sexual assault with intent to commit sexual penetration and criminal sexual assault on a child under 13.
James William Freese, Jr. is charged with 12 counts of criminal sexual conduct assault on teenagers, including at least one under the age of 13, spanning more than a decade. According to the complaint he allegedly committed criminal sexual conduct on victims under the age of 13 in 1992, 2010 and 2012. Other assaults involved older children, and the prosecutor’s office is alleging force was used. The alleged assaults took place in Maple Ridge and Alpena townships from 1990 to 2012.
The investigation is being handled by the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office.
