Light Up The Season Weekend


Christmas NightALPENA, MI. – Bundle up !  Grab some hot chocolate and the kids because the annual night time holiday parade in Alpena is set for this Friday, Nov. 29th, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.

The parade will step off at the County Annex Building at the corner of Chisholm and Ninth Avenue. The parade route continues down Chisholm Street until it turns left onto Second Avenue and then right onto Water Street ending in the parking lot behind city hall.
The parade have grown through the years averaging 40 – 50 entries.  It continues to get better each year as more imagination and creativity is put in.  It is a wonderful family event and is one that should not be missed during this holiday season.
Registrations had to be submitted by November 25 at 5p.m. to be in the parade. No late entries will be accepted.

Friday
Black Friday Sales at select stores in Downtown Alpena
Bolenz Holiday Parade beginning at 5:30p.m.
Light up a Life Tree lighting ceremony in Culligan Plaza, brought by Hospice of MI and Downtown Development Authority
Live Music, roasted chestnuts, and free cocoa after parade in Culligan Plaza

Saturday
Small Business Saturday sales at select stores in Downtown Alpena coincides with Holiday Open House Weekend
Santa will be in his house and ready for children’s visits from Noon-4p.m.
