Upstanding Councilman’s Law License Suspended
DETROIT, MI – George Cushingberry Jr.’s problems are piling up quick since taking office. Detroit City Councilman George Cushingberry’s law license to be suspended for 45 days. His ability to practice law stems from a case involving a complaint from a former client.
Cushingberry has been in trouble before for mishandling money in probate cases. As part of his agreement, Cushingberry will have to attend a workshop with the State Bar of Michigan called “Tips and Tools for a Successful Practice.” This is the third penalty the Attorney Discipline Board has given Cushingberry in the past 11 years.
