Armed Robber Targets Family Dollar Stores


UPDATE:  Suspect has been arrested

DETROIT, MI – He is large, intimidating and carries an automatic weapon with him to rob Family Dollar Store’s in the Detroit area. Family Dollar Suspect




Detroit Police are asking for help from the public to identify a suspect in the robberies of at least two Family Dollar Stores.

On September 15th, 2014 he robbed the Family Dollar at 15800 Grand River in Detroit.  Prior to that it was the Family Dollar on W. 7 Mile on August 7th, 2014 that he held up at gun point.

Officers say the suspect walks up to the register with groceries in his hand. He then opens his jacket and shows the clerk a machine pistol and demands money.

Description

  • Race:  African-American Male
  • Height:  6ft 1
  • Weight:  275 lbs
  • Other features:  He has dread-locks, bushy eyebrows, a scruffy beard and a mustache.  In the most recent robbery he was wearing a black jacket with “A&W” in white lettering and a blue polo shirt.

Police say he was carrying a machine type pistol that may have been a Tech 9 with a sling.

This individual is considered to be “Armed and Dangerous”.  Do not try to apprehend.  Call 911 immediately.
