Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department searching for Wanted Suspect (Updated)


(Update) – On December 10, 2014, at approximately 3:30pm, Keith Edward Worthington was taken into custody and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail. Calhoun County Sheriff’s Detectives and Members from the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team worked for several hours searching different locations for Worthington. Members from the Fugitive Team spotted Worthington walking on Highland Blvd. near Twenty Third St. in the City of Battle Creek. He surrendered immediately without incident. Information from the public directed officers to the area where he was located.

CALHOUN COUNTY, MI – On December 7th, 2014, at approximately 11:40pm, Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a 2004 Silver Pontiac Grand Prix in the 20000 block of 11 Mile Rd.  The suspect fled on foot into a wooded area. Keith Edward Worthington




Deputies believe the suspect may have had a handgun. An extensive search was completed with the help of a K-9 Unit from the Sheriff’s Office, but the suspect could not be located.

Calhoun County Detectives believe this vehicle has been involved in nearly a dozen burglaries in Convis, Eckford, Marshall, Bedford, Fredonia, and Tekonsha Townships.

Detectives searched the car and found jewelry and electronics stolen from a burglary in Marshall Township. Detectives have identified the suspect as Keith Edward Worthington.

Keith Worthington is considered to be Armed and Dangerous.

  • Weight: 150 lbs.

Worthington has been convicted previously for Conspiracy – Commit Legal Act in Illegal Manner, Weapons – Firearms – Receiving & Concealing and Home Invasion – 2nd Degree.  He is listed as a Parole Absconder with the Michigan Department of Corrections.
