LANSING, MI – Job seekers and Michigan employers can connect with one another through a state-sponsored virtual career fair on Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.MI Virtual Career Fair

During MiVirtualCareerFairs, event participants can:




  • Communicate in group chats and private chat messages with employers.
  • Upload, view, and search for job postings and apply directly from the site.
  • Interact with other participants in the Networking Lounge.
  • Explore career development resources in the Resource Lounge.
  • Talk with Pure Michigan Talent Connect Staff about your job search and learn more about utilizing MiTalent.org for your job search.
  • Interested in finding opportunities in the non-profit sector? The Michigan Non-profit Association will provide assistance and resources to those interested in the non-profit sector.
  • Veterans can connect with staff at the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) booth to learn about veterans benefits in Michigan.
  • Access archived job openings for 30 days after event. You can come back in and apply for jobs or search for specific employers to follow up with.

Job Hunting or Career Changing? The Michigan eLibrary (MeL) has Free eResources Just for You!!Mel

In MeL’s Jobs Gateway, you can find subscription based resources and targeted websites that will help you either transition into a different career field or help you find the job you’re after. And the best thing is that MeL eResources are available at no cost to all Michigan residents, and job seekers have a gateway just for that purpose: http://mel.org/jobs!  There are two resources in MeL’s Jobs Gateway in particular that job seekers need to know about.

  • Job & Career Accelerator (JCA): This easy-to-use, comprehensive resource just for job seekers enables you to explore over 1000 different occupations. In addition, JCA allows you to create professional resumes and cover letters as well as practice and master interviewing skills.
  • Workforce Skills for 21st Century Success (WS21):  WS21 assists those who need to improve their marketable skillsets by focusing on workplace writing, communication and math skills improvement.  Job search assistance including resume writing and interviewing is also provided as well as computer skills courses including Microsoft Office suite of products, Adobe products and Mac and Windows OS. Test prep for a variety of careers including electrician and nursing and preparing for high school equivalency exams round out this robust resource.

Under general supervision, but in compliance with established policies and procedures, this position is responsible for the research, development, programming, and ongoing maintenance of MSUFCU owned Microsoft SharePoint applications with a focus on front-end development and user experience. This is a cross-functional role that works directly with project stakeholders to identify requirements and constraints, estimate timeframes, design SharePoint user interfaces, and create or modify other custom SharePoint applications. It includes writing, testing and documenting code while completing projects on time. This role also communicates projects to other developers and presents to project stakeholders.
