3rd person Charged in Greektown Assault
On April 16, 2017 at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Monroe and St. Antoine Streets it is alleged that a friend of Putnam’s got into a verbal argument with a group of approximately eight men. The argument became physical and another male friend of Putnam’s was the assaulted by the group of men. When Putnam went to aid his friend the group of men began to violently beat Putnam while he was on the ground.
In addition to the beating Putnam’s personal property was stolen. It is alleged that Curry participated in the beating and theft of Putnam. Putnam is currently being treated in a local hospital for injuries he sustained during the attack.
On April 19, 2017 Defendant Curry was arrested and taken to the Detroit Detention Center. He is charged with; Unarmed Robbery, Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, and Felonious Assault.
Curry was arraigned this afternoon, Thursday April 20th, 2017 before 36th District Court Magistrate Bari Blake Wood, The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 27, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for May 3, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge William McConico in 36th District Court. Defendant Curry also received a $5 million cash/surety bond.
Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Eddie Romone Curry was listed as Absconder from Parole. He was listed as absconded as of April 15th, 2017.
He has previous convictions for Weapons – Carrying Concealed, Weapons – Felony Firearms and two counts of Controlled Substance-Del/Manuf-Narc/Coc 50-449 Grams – Attempt
Eddie Curry has been identified as one of four out of the eight as being the most violent during the attack.
A source found information that Curry had been hit by gunfire on either the 8th or 9th of April of 2017. They forwarded the images below to us concerning the incident.
On April 17, 2017 the investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of Stanley Faulk, 23-years-old, of Inkster and Keith Harvey in the beating of Putnam and taking his personal property.
Faulk and Harvey are charged with Unarmed Robbery, Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, and Felonious Assault. It is alleged that cocaine was found on Harvey at the time of his arrest. Harvey has also been charged with Possession of Cocaine.
Faulk and Harvey were arraigned yesterday before Magistrate Charles Anderson. The probable cause conference for both defendants is scheduled for April 26, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for May 3, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court. Both defendants received a 5 million dollar cash/surety bond.
