Detroit Man Charged in B and E of Detroit Water and Sewage Service Station


DETROIT, MI – Ernest Lee Jones, Jr., 25-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with a breaking and entering of a Detroit Water and Sewage Service Station located in the 13300 block of East McNichols. 

On April 15, 2017 a t4:00 a.m. and  in the early morning hours on April 19, 2017 at. it is alleged that Jones used a crowbar and sledge hammers to get inside the building where he broke into the cash registers and stole cash, coins and checks.  Jones was arrested in April 19, 2017 at 2:05 a.m. when the police responded to a call of a Band E in progress.




Jones has been charged with Safe Breaking, Breaking and Entering A Building, Possession of Burglar’s Tools, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property.

Jones was arraigned on April 21, 2017 before 36th District Court Magistrate Dawn M. White.  The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 28, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for May 4, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.  Both hearings are before Judge Lydia Nance Adams in 36th District Court.  The defendant received a $15,000/10% bond.
