MUSKEGON – A man was jailed Sunday after a shootout outside a party at the Elks Charity Lodge social club that killed two 20-year-old men, 20-year-old woman and injured four others, authorities say.
Muskegon police got a call about 2 a.m. Sunday saying there was gunfire at the Elks Charity Lodge. Police said they found Dupree Johnson and Ja’Colby Brown dead outside the club. The 20-year-old woman was shot and run over by a driver trying to flee. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The females name is being withheld until her family can be notified. Police are searching for the vehicle that struck the woman. All the victims were from the Muskegon area. They said the four injured all had gunshot wounds.
Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson said a man has been jailed in the attack. He was wanted on a previous warrant that was unrelated to Sunday’s shootings. The lodge was the site of another shooting in June. A Muskegon man was arrested and charged with the crime.
