On Nov. 5th, 2013 it was reported that 54 yr old Chef Charlie Trotter of Chicago had died but no cause of death was available at that time. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has determined that Trotter died of a massive stroke. In medical terms: a cerebrovascular accident (a stroke) as a consequence of hypertensive arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (high blood pressure). Evidence of a prior stroke is also noted in the report.
Trotter was found unconscious and not breathing in his Lincoln Park home by his son Dylan on the morning of Nov. 5th. An ambulance was called where Trotter was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:48 a.m.
Charlie Trotter was famous not only in Chicago but around the world for his talents as a chef and his legendary restaurant.
