BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – If it’s on the Internet it must be true right? Not so fast ! This is yet another case of “be careful of what you post on the Internet. It could go viral and you better be able to back up any claims”.
The Gallop Asian Bistro said Saturday that Dayna Morales will no longer be working there. On its Facebook page, the restaurant said it was a “joint decision” with Morales that she move on. “This has been an unfortunate incident for Gallop Asian Bistro, our employees, and our customers”.
Morales posted a photo on Facebook showing a bill with a line through the tip area. The photo of the receipt showed someone had written, “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle.” After she had posted all of this on Facebook and the news of this went viral, she began receiving money from all over the world. However, days later, a New Jersey couple came forward claiming the receipt was theirs and that they had left a tip and did not write any such note.
Do you think she should be charged with any crimes?
The entire incident has been popping up on the Internet off and on since Morales posted the photo of the receipt questioning how authentic her claims were. It seems now the real answer has come back home to roost.
Morales has not responded to requests for comment
