DETROIT, MI – 25-year-old Adrian Clay, who is a convicted carjacker, escaped around 7:20 a.m. Saturday from the Ryan Road Correctional Facility, located near McNichols Road and Conant Street just east of I-75. He was last seen near Ryan Road and Hildale Street. He was wearing prison blues with a red stripe, but may have changed clothes. He’s described as 5ft 6inches tall, 161 lbs, and dark complected.
As officials investigate his whereabouts, they believe he fled because of domestic issues. Michigan Department of Corrections, said officials have listened to Clay’s phone conversations, which, as is the practice with all inmates’ calls, were recorded.“A number of telephone calls … revealed family/domestic issues,”
Detroit Police are calling in a helicopter to help with the search. State Police and state Corrections officers are also part of the search. Clay may have jumped into an older model Chevy with a busted out rear window near Mt Elliot and Strong St.
Clay is currently serving time for felony firearm and carjacking.
