Suspect Charged in Farmington Hills Party Store Murder

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – Cassalle Leroy Nettles has been charged with 6 Cassalle Nettlesfelonies in the murder of 59-year-old Duraid Lossia.  Mr. Lossia was the owner of Tom’s Party Store in Farmington Hills.  He was found shot to death inside his store on Inkster Road, north of Eight Mile, early Saturday afternoon.

Information from a Farmington Hills Police Department press release, Cassalle  Nettles, 43, was arraigned Tuesday in front of 47th District Court magistrate Dennis Pheney on felony murder, armed robbery and weapons charges. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. Physical evidence collected from the scene and surrounding area links Nettles to the crime.

Nettles is no stranger to being arrested and imprisoned.  Nettles was sentenced in 1998 on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery and delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance. He was released in November of 2011.

A funeral Mass for Lossia was held Tuesday morning at Mother of God Chaldean Catholic Church in Southfield.

Nettles is due back in court on Friday.
