GAYLORD, MI – A 21 year old Johannesburg woman who was providing home care services to the elderly was arrested on Thursday, 03/06/2014, on charges of financial transaction device-stealing without consent by Troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post.
Troopers began an investigation last June focusing on the 21 year old woman, who provided home care services while employed by the Otsego County Commission on Aging. It is alleged that she obtained credit cards from two different elderly victims while working in their homes and charged purchases of more than $1,000 to their accounts without their knowledge. Upon her arrest she was charged with two felony counts.
She had been lodged in the Otsego County Jail but has since posted bond. The Otsego County Commission on Aging has cooperated throughout the investigation.
