UPDATE: Click Link for Further Information Confirmed: Body Found is Teleka Patrick
PORTER, INDIANA – Dr. Teleka Patrick had been missing for 4 months. The search seemingly has ended today.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon:
“On April 6, 2014 a fisherman found a body in Lake Charles in Porter, Indiana. The identity is unknown at this time. The Indiana State Police is investigating the incident. The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office has no further comment at this time.”
The family of Teleka Patrick released a statement Sunday afternoon:
“Our family was informed that a body was found that may be our daughter Teleka Patrick. We are waiting for official confirmation from the Kalamazoo Sheriff’s Department and have no comment at this time. Thank you for your continued prayers-we ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.”
The same general area that a car belonging to Teleka Patrick, 30, was found in December is where the body has been located. She had gone missing after leaving work at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Jim Carlin, a private investigator, who has been working with Teleka Patrick’s family made this statement today:
“Although there’s been no identification of the body, obviously it appears to be Teleka Patrick by a couple of different reasons that I don’t want to confirm,” Carlin says.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week. Further discussion about this case can be found on Facebook at MissingCases.com
