WASHINGTON, DC – The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
If you have unused prescription medications in your home that you need to properly dispose of, today is the day to do that from 10am to 2pm.
Never dispose of unwanted medications by flushing them down the toilet. This can cause harmful effects to the lakes, rivers and streams that we all depend on for drinking water and fishing.
For further information about the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day you can contact your local law enforcement agency about where your drop off point is locally or find more about the program here.
