St. Clair County Woman Comes Forward About Buried Infant

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, MI – A woman has come forward with specific details about police-line-do-not-cross-investigation-graphicthe infant that was found buried in a shallow grave in Clay Township.

The woman states that she is the mother of the deceased child.  Clay Township police Chief Don Drake says in a statement released Wednesday that his department is working to confirm those details but he does believe her to be credible.

Autopsy results haven’t yet been released.  A person doing yard work on Sunday discovered a newborn child in a shallow grave about 6:30PM in the 9300 block of Stone Road. “I dug up a plastic container and there was a baby in it,” the man is heard telling a 911 operator. “A human baby.”

Prosecutors are expected to review the case.
