5:26pm 06/25/2014 – Detroit police chief: Missing 12-year-old boy Charlie Bothuell found alive, well in dad’s basement. Charlie was found behind a barrier made of boxes as police executed a search warrant at the home. No one else was home at the time. Charlie Bothuell has been taken to the hospital for evalution. Police do not believe that the boy could have erected the barrier himself.
Charlie was last seen at his father’s home on the east side of Detroit on June 14th, 2014 and has not been seen since. Police launched a new search for the missing 12 year old boy Tuesday night. The FBI and police have searched the family’s home and neighborhood, as well as computers in the family home.
As of this evening Charlie’s information went national when his father appeared on “Nancy Grace” pleading for help to find him. Reports on WXYZ.com are saying that his father and step-mother have been questioned extensively in his disappearance. Family members are being questioned, but no one is considered a person of interest right now. His father did take a lie detector test which came back inconclusive. Charlie’s stepmother refuses to take the same test.

06/25/2014 – Detroit Police Chief James Craig made the statement that this is not a homicide investigation, but police are not ruling it out. During a news conference Chief Craig also stated “We’ve gotten evidence that suggests that this is more than just a serious missing.”
