Former Armada Middle School Teacher Ordered to Stand Trial

ARMADA, MI – 26 year old Robert Yaek who was a teacher at Armada Middle Robert YaekSchool has been ordered to stand trail on charges he had a sexual relationship with a 13 year old minor student.  Romeo District Judge District Judge Denis LeDuc ruled there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial.

Robert Yaek remains in jail a $400,000 bond.  He is facing charges that include three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of distributing sexually explicit matter to children, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime and one count of possessing child sexually abusive material.  He could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Allegedly Robert Yaek had multiple sexual encounters with the 7th grade girl in a closet in the middle school and in a rented home in Armada.  The investigation started in the middle of May.  School district officials had received allegations about the situation but had no evidence. District officials then turned the information over to police.

Yaek was a science and math teacher at Armada Middle School.  He will be back in Macomb County Circuit Court on July 21st, 2014.
