PORT HURON, MI – One suspect has been arrested, while the search continues for a second suspect, following an armed robbery early this morning.
According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the holdup occurred at the Mobil gas station at 32nd Street and I-69 about 1:30. Two people wearing masks came into the store demanding money. The clerk told deputies a weapon was observed. Once money was taken, the suspects ran south from the store. Patrol cars from the Sheriff’s Office went to the store and also checked the surrounding area. Patrol cars from Port Huron Police, Marysville Police and Michigan State Police also checked the area for the suspects. One suspect was taken into custody without incident about 15 minutes after the holdup on 25th Street, just north of Oak Street. He was transported to the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center, pending arraignment on armed robbery charges.
The search continues for the second suspect. He is described as a thin white male, wearing a maroon sweatshirt and black pants.
Nobody was injured in the robbery. Deputies and Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation into the incident.
