ALPENA, MI – The City of Alpena and the organizers of the 40th Annual Michigan Brown Trout Festival are preparing the Alpena Small Boat Harbor for the opening this Friday.
The 40th Annual Michigan Brown Trout Festival takes place from July 18th-27th, 2014 this year. The Big Tent is up. Security fencing is being put in place. Vendors are setting up. It’s all being done for the expected crowds that will come out to enjoy what this annual festival has to bring.
This year a new addition to the Michigan Brown Trout Festival has been added. The PNC Bank Kiddie Fishing Classic has been added as part of Family Day, Sunday, July 20th, 2014.
Children 14 and under can pre-register for this brand-new fishing event at PNC Bank located at 122 N. Second, Alpena, or in the BIG TENT on Sunday, July 20, beginning at 7 a.m. The fishing event will conclude at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20th, 2014, followed by the awards at 4:00 p.m.
This annual event brings in many tourists and anglers to the area. It is a wonderful economic boost to the community.
