Gone are the days of having to dodge potholes on this much used street in Alpena.
The $1 million dollar project began On June 9th, 2014.
MacArthur Construction began the reconstruction of Grant Street from Hobbs Drive to Addison Street. The work includes the replacement of old storm drains, installing new water and sewer lines and a complete restructure of a section of Grant Street. The reconstruction project also includes wider shoulders for bike path use and installation of sidewalks from Addison Street to Brooke.
Grant Street from Hobbs Drive to Addison Street is closed to all traffic during the construction process.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
