According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, 53 year old Delmas Hunley was found by a citizen behind the store about 5:00 p.m. on August 23rd. Hunley had been deceased for some time when the body was found. Deputies and Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office went to the location and began gathering evidence. Hunley’s body was turned over to the St. Clair County Medical Examiner’s Office.
An autopsy was performed on Hunley yesterday. While the investigation involving the autopsy is ongoing, preliminary findings ruled the death as suspicious, with blunt trauma injuries found on the body.
The Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau is asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in the death of Hunley.
Detectives are attempting to locate 50 year old Mark David Ivers, who is believed to be homeless, but currently in the Port Huron area. Ivers is also a parole absconder from the Michigan Department of Corrections.
Anyone who knows where Ivers can be located is asked to contact Detective Stacy Tunich at (810) 459-0043.
