OTSEGO COUNTY, MI – UpNorthLive.com is reporting that a tornado touched down near Old State Road and Blueberry Lane, southeast of Gaylord, around 2:30 p.m. on Labor Day.
Loud and fast is how residents in the area describe the tornado as it quickly ripped through the area.
Trees uprooted, damaged decks and cars are what they are having to deal with today. No injuries have been reported but almost a dozen homes were damaged to some extent.
The National Weather Service did go to the scene and estimate that no less than an EF-1 tornado touched down, reaching winds of 100 miles per hour plus. The EF-1 tornado touched down by Little Bass Lake with winds estimated to be near 110 miles per hour, cutting a path over 200 yards wide, traveling 7 1/2 miles in 15 minutes.
