TYRONE TOWNSHIP, MI – WoodTV.com is reporting the accident happened at about 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014 at 20 Mile Road and Tyrone Avenue that killed one woman and injured two other people.
A car collided with a truck. A person driving southbound in the truck on Tyrone Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a car.
Kent County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Troy Woodwyk on the scene said the 26-year-old driver of a southbound pickup truck failed to obey the stop sign at 20 Mile and broadsided a westbound sedan.
AeroMed transported the woman, Anna Excutia-Chavez, 25-years-old, from that car to the hospital where she later died. Another person that was in that vehicle, 25-year-old Jose Gavina, is in the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the truck is in serious condition.
Alcohol is likely a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
