Crimes that Detroit Residents can help Solve


DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department released a 24 hour major crime Detroit Police Departmentsummary for September 3rd, 2014.  These are crimes that residents can put an end to by speaking up.

So many times the common theme of ‘Take Back Our Streets’ is chanted but that’s primarily where it ends.  This is where action needs to be put into place.  Help to put these cases in the courts where they belong:

24-HOUR MAJOR CRIME SUMMARY REPORT

September 3, 2014 – 12:00 a.m. to September 3, 2014 – 11:59 p.m.

NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.
Precinct: 12th Precinct

Location: Wildemere/Puritan

Date/Time: 9/3/14 12:30 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES: The 23 and 27 year old victims were walking to the gas station, when they were approached by 2 armed suspects, who announced a hold up. Both victims were non-fatally shot by the suspects. The suspects escaped in an unknown direction.

Precinct: 8th Precinct

Location: 7 Mile/Biltmore

Date/Time: 9/3/14 5:00 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES: The 35 year old female victim was standing at the bus stop, when 2 suspects in a green mini-van pulled up, announced a hold-up and robbed her. The suspects implied that they had a weapon and took a wallet, keys, pocket knife, bag of posters and $20 U.S. currency from the victim. The victim was not injured.

Precinct: 4th Precinct

Location: 5800 block of Elmer

Date/Time: 9/3/14 6:30 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES: The 45 year old male victim left his vehicle running and went back inside the house for an item. When he returned, an unknown suspect was observed driving away in his red, 1997 Ford Expedition with the Michigan license plate # CFA 5927. The victim ran after the suspect and his vehicle, then heard a shot fired and stopped chasing it. The victim was not injured.

Precinct: 7th Precinct

Location: 2000 block of Brewster
Date/Time: 9/3/14 9:45 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES: The 41 year old male victim was approached by 2 armed suspects in an older model gray Chrysler vehicle. The suspect on the passenger side produced a firearm, and robbed the victim of personal items. Taken were a white 2012 Dodge Avenger, 4-door, Michigan license plate # CPC 1298, a brown leather wallet, Michigan ID, Metro PCS and Samsung cell phones. The victim was not injured.

#1 – Black male, 20, 5’7”, 140 lbs, dark complexion, medium build, normal teeth, wearing a white shirt and dark pants – ARMED

Precinct: 4th Precinct

Location: 4200 W. Vernor

Date/Time: 9/3/14 11:30 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES: The 32 and 34 year old victims were approached by 2 suspects who robbed and carjacked them at gunpoint. Suspect #1 non-fatally shot the 32 year old victim.

The 34 year old victim was not injured. Taken were a gray 2003 Nissan Sentra, Michigan license plate # BNT 0079, keys and a wallet. The suspects abandoned the vehicle in the 1000 block of West Grand Boulevard, where they carjacked another victim of his silver 2002 Buick Lesabre Michigan license plate # CDM 2452. The victim of the second carjacking was not injured.
