Alpena Collision Changes Hands After 68 yrs in Business

ALPENA, MI – A family owned business since 1948 in Alpena has changed hands.  The Alpena Collision located at the corner of Ripley Blvd and Elizabeth Street is now known as Northern Collision and Auto Repair.Alpena Collision

Operated by Meb and Leocadia LeMieux for most of the 68 years that it was in operation.

The LeMieux’s built a thriving business in repairing wrecked autos along with their own towing company.  During the late 60’s and into the 70’s the business expanded and taught many from the Alpena Community College on how to repair auto’s correctly.

Meb LeMieux passed away on Friday, January 30th, 2009.  The business had been operated recently by Meb’s son, Mick LeMieux and his wife Barb, until the property was sold.

The LeMieux family was very respected in the business community and they will be missed.
