DETROIT, MI – Olympia Development has made it a goal with the City of Detroit of making sure Detroit residents get 51 percent of the construction jobs for new Red Wings arena and entertainment district.

Olympia Development and the Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation will be working together to find qualified candidates, while providing job training for those who need help building their skills.
Detroit Employment Solutions is the city of Detroit’s workforce agency and the lead partner for the talent sourcing and development that will be required for the sweeping transformation of dozens of underutilized blocks between downtown and midtown Detroit into a world-class Sports and Entertainment District.

Estimates for this project will create:
- 8,300 construction and construction-related jobs
- 1,100 permanent jobs
- $100 million in jobs-related income for Detroit residents
- $210 million a year for the City of Detroit
- $1.8 billion total impact in the State of Michigan
Slated to be completed in 2017, it is the project that will transform downtown Detroit in ways that had only been dreamed about for years. Vacant and blighted properties will be gone. Gleaming new structures will all rise out of the ground all at the same time during construction.
