HARTFORD, MI – A 19-year-old is locked up this morning after police officers arrested him around 5pm Sunday evening.
Officers took note of a suspicious male near Haver and Washington Streets in Hartford late Sunday afternoon.
After stopping and talking to 19-year-old Austin Owen, deputies found that he had two outstanding warrants for prior arrests in Van Buren and Berrien Counties.
During the arrest they found 6 grams of Meth on Owen. A search of a home on West Hilliard linked to the teen turned up paraphernalia and all the equipment needed to make more meth.
He is being held on the two outstanding warrants. However, it is expected that further charges will be filed against him for possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth components and possession of drug paraphernalia.
