ALPENA, MI – Two teens were arrested after they took officers on a high speed chase through the streets of Alpena on Tuesday.
Deputies from the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a vehicle chase on Tuesday October 28th, 2014.
At approximately 10:55 am, a Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to signal a left turn on Grant St.
The driver then continued to the Devil’s Lake truck trail off of Piper Rd. While evading police on the trail, the driver struck a tree and both the driver and passenger fled on foot. Officers set up a perimeter and were able to locate both individuals a short distance from the vehicle.
Both individuals were lodged at the Alpena County Jail for the following charges;
The driver a 19-year-old male from Alpena was lodged for fleeing and eluding and driving while license suspended.
The passenger a 17-year-old from Alpena was lodged for resisting and obstructing.
Alpena County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by troopers from the Alpena Michigan State Police post.
