LEXINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on Roach Road, west of Croswell Road in Lexington Township.
The two fatal accident victims have been identified as Danielle N. Torrez, 17-years-old, of Croswell and Dakota A. Moore, 18-years-old, of Applegate. Injured in the accident was Laken Williams, 20-years-old, of Lexington.
On Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 at approximately 11:07 pm Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from a 20-year-old female from Lexington reporting being involved in an accident. The initial investigation reveals that three persons with ages ranging from 17 to 20 were traveling westbound on Roach Rd at a high rate of speed when they lost control, ran off the north side of Roach roll their vehicle several times.
Two people in the vehicle were ejected. “The two people who were ejected from the vehicle were pronounced dead on the scene with the third person being transported by Croswell EMS to McLaren Hospital in Port Huron with non-life threatening injuries,” stated Sheriff Biniecki.
Due to the high speed and the vehicle rolling over several times Sheriff Garry Biniecki said Investigators had a difficult time reconstructing the accident. The accident still remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Croswell Police Department, Michigan State Police-Caro Post and the Croswell Fire Department.
