KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI – William ‘Billy’ Fitzsimmons Jr., 22-years-old, a resident of Climax, Michigan, died in a one vehicle car accident on October 31st, 2014 around 3:30pm.
Fitzsimmons was on his way home from work from his job at Summit Polymers in Vicksburg when the crash occurred.
Police state that Fitzsimmons was driving his Chevrolet Trailblazer north on S. 42nd St. when he veered off the road. His SUV rolled several times and then hit a tree. Police do not believe that he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Sadly, it was less than a week ago that the Fitzsimmons family had to bury their grandmother. She was laid to rest this past Monday.
Billy Fitzsimmons was a 2010 graduate of Climax-Scotts High School. He was a standout athlete. He loved playing football and basketball and coached fifth and sixth graders from Climax
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
