EMMET COUNTY, MI – Emmet County Clerk Gail Martin has announced her plans to retire November 21st, 2014. She has served numerous terms in the position, and was formerly the Deputy Clerk under the late Irene Granger.
Because the Clerk is an elected official, 57th Circuit Court Judge Charles Johnson is charged with appointing her replacement to complete Martin’s term, which expires on Dec. 31, 2016.
Judge Johnson is accepting applications to fill the upcoming vacancy into this elective office. To be eligible, a person must be a registered and qualified elector in Emmet County prior to appointment.
