Sanilac County Suspect Arraigned in Stolen Vehicle Crime Spree

SANILAC COUNTY, MI – A 22-year-old Sandusky man was arraigned in the 73rd District Court on multiple Misdemeanor and Felony charges for his involvement is a stolen vehicle crime spree.Police Investigation

Anthony Lawrence Kujawski Jr. age 22 of Sandusky was arraigned in the 73rd District Court on multiple Misdemeanor and Felony charges relating to the Thursday night/ Friday morning crime spree, involving several area Police Agencies including the Michigan State Police Caro Post, Sandusky Police Department, and The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.

Charges Include, seven Felony counts including, four counts of Motor Vehicle Theft’s, one count of Breaking and Entering a Building, one count of Flee and Elude a Police Officer, one count of Obstructing a Police Officer. Three Misdemeanor counts including, one count of Reckless Driving, one count of Failing to report an Accident, and one count of Operating – License Suspended, Revoked, Denied. District Court Judge Gregory S. Ross set his bond at $10,000.00 cash on each charge and a Pre-Exam has been set for 11-25-14 at 10 am.

The suspect who was arrested on Friday November 14th by Sheriff Deputies who were following up on an early morning vehicle theft that occurred in the 2200 block of N. Goetze Rd. in Forester Twp. spotted the stolen pickup abandoned on Black River Road . The Sheriff’s Office K-9 Baki and his handler Deputy Josh Horst tracked the suspect from the vehicle to a residence where the suspect was arrested.

I was impressed with exchange of information and assistance by the agencies involved, which ultimately led to his arrest stated Sheriff Biniecki. I think MSP Trooper Bethany Craig should be commended for her interviewing skills as she got a speedy confession. Everyone did a great job!
