Calhoun County Sheriff make arrest in Robbery case

SPRINGFIELD, MI – On September 16th, 2014, at 3:04pm, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery at Bill’s Hotdog Factory located in the 500 block of Military Avenue in the City of Springfield. Armed Robbery

The suspect provided a note indicating that he had a weapon and was robbing the store. The suspect fled on foot from the scene with money.

Deputy Investigators collected evidence at the scene, including the robbery note.

On November 25th, 2014, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by the State Crime Lab that a fingerprint had been identified on the robbery note. The fingerprint was identified as belonging to a 25-year-old Emmett Township man.

Detectives from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the suspect and arrested him on an unrelated felony warrant.

The suspect was interviewed by detectives and he confessed to the robbery. The suspect is currently lodged at the Calhoun County Jail for armed robbery and his name is being withheld pending issuance of a warrant.
