At approximately 6:26pm on Saturday, November 29th, 2014 Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from a 19 year-old female clerk at Sunrise Marathon reporting the Armed Robbery.
The initial investigation reveals that a male subject wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark colored blue jeans and black face mask entered the front entrance of the store and produced a black in color semi-automatic pistol.
The male demanded money from the clerk, which she provided him from the register. The male subject left the store and was observed by witnesses to be running southbound along M-25 and then ran westbound near Gardner Line Road. The male was further described by witnesses as being approximately 6’ tall, skinny build, and late teens to early twenties.
There is no confirmation at this time but there is a possibility that this incident is connected to one that occurred on November 24th, 2014 at the Mobil Mart gas station on Lakeshore Road in Lakeport.
This incident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
