TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Reports are coming in that road ways and sidewalks in the Grand Traverse County area are becoming ice-covered and very slippery.
Around 4:30pm the temperatures started to drop when things were just wet. That wet has turned into ice.
Freezing is being reported from Cadillac to Fife Lake on US-131. Black ice in Arbutus Lake area and freezing rain in Kingsley.
You are advised to use caution when on the roads.
Cold air will continue plunging southward into the central Plains and Great Lakes regions behind an arctic front. Tonight snow showers are likely, mainly after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 19. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.
