St. Clair County Man dies in Mobile Home Fire

CASCO TOWNSHIP, MI – A Casco Township man is dead following a fire inside his mobile fire

According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, Herbert Robinson, 72-years-old, was found by his son around 9:30am December 3rd, 2014.

Robinson lived in the 5300 block of Bart Drive in the Americana Estates Mobile Home Park. The last time anyone saw Robinson was about 6:30pm on December 2nd, 2014.

Deputies were first called to the location shortly after 9:30a.m. Ira Township Fire and Rescue and Tri-Hospital EMS were also called. When they arrived, they discovered Robinson was deceased in the kitchen of the residence. There had been a fire that appeared to have started in the living room. That fire burned itself out, leaving only a small amount of fire damage, but more extensive smoke damage in the home.

The Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigation Unit and Detective Bureau were called to the scene. The investigation showed that the fire was accidental in nature.

According to Robinson’s son Robert, when he went into the home, there was fire damage, but the fire was completely out.
