Detroit Police Department unveils DPD Connect

DETROIT, MI – On December 9th, 2014, the Detroit Police Department unveiled “DPD Connect”, a new smart phone application meant to connect the citizens of Detroit with their police department. Detroit Police

Once downloaded, the app will give the user access to vital information such as press releases, wanted or missing persons and significant events that have occurred in the city.

They will be provided a list of phone numbers that will put them in contact with their respective Precinct, Neighborhood Police Officers and Detectives, just to name a few.

Users will be given access to a direct link to the department’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages, where they will be able to view additional information concerning DPD, or post your concerns about what is occurring in Detroit.

Lastly, citizens will be able to leave an anonymous tip, allowing them to help the police department take dangerous criminals off of the street, yet still remain anonymous.

We would like to thank Mr. Will McDowell and his team at Detroit Labs, (based right here in Detroit), for their help in creating this App. Their generosity and hard work has been unwavering throughout this entire process. It is the relationship with businesses like theirs that keeps our department a step above the rest.

We have made a commitment to the citizens of this great city, that we will become more accessible to the community. DPD Connect will be a key tool in facilitating that access. DPD Connect is now available for free in the Google Play and Apple itunes stores.
