EAST LANSING, MI – Michigan State University Police issued a Crime Alert on December 9th, 2014 following an armed robbery.
The Michigan State University Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 12:40 a.m. Dec. 9th, 2014 at the east end of Crescent Road.
A 24-year old cab driver told police he was transporting a passenger to his residence and was given the wrong directions. While stopped in a parking lot, two men approached his cab asking for assistance. The first suspect sat in the front seat and placed a gun to his head and told him to drive, according to the driver.
The passenger, a 23-year old male student, told police the second suspect entered the backseat vehicle and assaulted and robbed him, while the cab drove to Lansing.
The first suspect is described as black male, 25-30 years old, approximately 5-feet, 5 inches tall, wide shoulders and a reddish beard. He was wearing eyeglasses, dark jeans, a red-and-black checkered hoodie and black vest.
Police said the second suspect is a white male, 25-30 years old, thin build, last seen wearing a brown jacket and jeans. He was carrying a book bag and a large wooden club or paddle. No other description is available.
The men were last seen running from the area of Parker and Walsh streets in Lansing.
