Former Armada middle school teacher Pleads No Contest to CSC

ARMADA, MI – Robert Yaek, a former Armada middle school teacher, 26-years-old, of Richmond Township, has pleaded no contest to two counts each of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and using a computer to commit a crime, as well as single counts of distributing obscene material to a minor and possession of child sexually abusive material.Robert Yaek

Robert Yaek was a science and math teacher at Armada Middle School.

Yaek had multiple sexual encounters with a 7th grade girl in a closet in the school and in a rented home in Armada.

The investigation started in the middle of May.  School district officials had received allegations about the situation but had no evidence. District officials then turned the information over to police.

Yaek remains locked up in the Macomb County Jail on a $400,000 bond.  He is scheduled to be sentenced January 14th, 2014 by Macomb County Circuit Judge Mary Chrzanowski.

First-degree criminal sexual conduct, which involves sexual penetration, is punishable by up to life in prison. Using a computer to commit a crime and possession of child sexually abusive material are both felonies that carry a prison term of up to four years. Distributing sexually explicit material to children is a 2-year misdemeanor.
