Upon arrival, officers located a female victim, 33-years-old, who claimed that her estranged husband attempted to shoot her outside of her apartment building but had fled the area.
Officers located numerous shell casings and evidence suggesting that two firearms had been discharged.
Officers were able to locate the suspect, a 29-yr-old male, in the first block of Oaklawn Ave. The suspect was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The suspect was transported to Battle Creek’s Bronson Hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspect will be facing charges of attempted homicide. The Battle Creek Police are still attempting to locate a third subject involved in the shooting.
