JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, MI – Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a single car crash on Robinson Road, between Mt. Zion St and Monette St, in Jefferson Twp, Cass County, Michigan on December 23rd, 2014 at approximately 12:52 pm.
Deputies, LifeCare Ambulance and Penn Township Fire/Rescue responded to the crash site.
On arrival, Deputies found a single vehicle driven by Tammy Turpin, 46-years-old, of Niles, Michigan off the road into a small swamp on the west side of Robinson Road.
Turpin was removed from the vehicle and transported from the scene to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, Michigan for treatment.
Initial investigation shows that Turpin may have suffered a medical emergency, lost control of her vehicle and went into the swamp. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash and Turpin did have her seat belt on.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
