WARREN, MI – Jay Ralko, a 22-year-old Warren area trans individual who had been missing since December 10th, 2014, was found dead on December 23rd, 2014.
Jay Ralko left a note for his roommate to take care of his dog, saying he had an emergency, but never returned.
Ralko’s roommate found the note after coming home just after midnight on December 10th, 2014.
Family, friends and the community had been scouring every inch of any place they could think of that Ralko might have been. They had set up a Facebook page, and a Tumblr page trying get the attention of the public in hopes of finding Jay Ralko alive. Sadly, their efforts did not locate him in time.
Jay Ralko, who suffered from bipolar disorder, was found dead in the parking lot of Meijer at 13 Mile and Mound in Warren. Ralko was inside his Ford Escape and police suspect he had committed suicide according to Louis Galasso, Warren police deputy commissioner.
His family released the following statement: “”We would like to thank everyone that helped support us in our search to find Jay. If we could have one last word with Jay, we would tell him how proud we are of him. Not many people would be able to get through what he has. He has struggled with so much in the last few years, much of which none of us will ever understand. Our only wish now is that all the pain has gone away and he has found peace. We love you Jay and we will miss you.”
