BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI – A 27-year-old Yale man was injured in a one car crash Thursday evening in Burtchville Township.
According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the man was driving his 2001 Mitsubishi southbound on old Lakeshore Road about 8:00 p.m.
He was unable to negotiate a curve in the 7500 block of the road and drove into a cinderblock wall on private property.
The vehicle went through the wall, became airborne and landed on its front end in a wooded area well off the roadway. The homeowner located the vehicle and called 911.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded, along with Burtchville Township Fire and Rescue and Tri-Hospital EMS.
The man was transported to McLaren-Port Huron Hospital with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
