DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department has launched an internal investigation into the video of officers using force on a prisoner, posted on social media. Detroit Police

The incident took place on January 12th, 2015 in the area of Plainview and Pickford in Detroit.

The investigation has revealed that the officers involved are not Detroit Police Officers. They are Grosse Pointe Park police.

The Grosse Pointe Park police chief on Tuesday defended the officers from a multijurisdictional task force who were captured on video hitting and kicking a man suspected of carjacking a woman and her daughter at gunpoint before leading police on a quarter-mile foot chase.

Emma Craig posted this video to Facebook concerning the officers and how they were handling a suspect. Because Facebook was causing issues with embedding this video to MI Headlines, we were able to capture a copy of it.
