Quoting 7&4 News – UpNorthLive.com – “It wasn’t a domestic, it wasn’t a drug deal gone bad, it was just an incident that I can’t relay right now but that will come out shortly,” said Presque Isle County Sheriff, Robert Paschke. “I knew all the people and it’s just I’m kind of in shock right now with the people that are involved we are very surprised.”
Richard Strzelecki was a neighbor and a business partner in the farming community with the Hinckas. The sheriff believes money issues from their business venture may have lead to the shooting.
Strzelecki was arraigned in 89th District Court in Cheboygan on Friday, January 16th, 2015, on two counts of homicide/first degree murder, two counts of homicide/felony murder, one count of home invasion, as well as one count of felony firearm weapons.
Strzelecki is being held without bond. He is scheduled to be back in court for a pretrial January 27th and a preliminary exam February 3rd, 2015.
The small community of Posen has been shaken by the incident. Many have just been asking the question of Why?
Michigan State Police from the Grayling Post as well as Presque Isle County deputies have been processing the crime scene. Authorities continued the investigation early Friday morning.
