Breaking News: 2 in Custody in Farmington Hills Carjacking

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – A man and woman are in custody for the brutal attack and carjacking that occurred last evening around 11pm at the Fairmont Park Apartments in Farmington Hills.Fairmont-Apartments

The Farmington Hills Police Chief during an interview with Local 4 stated that a tip came in this afternoon concerning the victims car and where it could be located at.  Officers located the car near 13 Mile and Drake.  After a short chase the suspects ran the car into a ditch at 11 Mile and Drake.

The vehicle involved in the earlier carjacking and abduction has been located and the occupants of the vehicle have been arrested.

Taken into custody were Joshua Miller, 18-years-old, and Jasmine McReynolds, 20-years-old.

Miller and McReynolds were charged with assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, carjacking, unlawful imprisonment, second-degree home invasion, and assault, resisting and obstructing a police officer.  Joshua Miller was also charged with third-degree fleeing a police officer, and stealing or retaining a financial transaction device without consent.

The Farmington Hills Police Department, with the assistance of an alert citizen, located the vehicle wanted in the earlier carjacking and abduction. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the occupants. The Police Department thanks the community and the media for being alert and taking the initiative to get involved when noticing problems and hearing about criminal activity. The investigation is still ongoing and these arrests will hopefully help solve this heinous crime.
