WYOMING, MI – Kent County Sheriff’s Department official have confirmed that a Wyoming officer was wounded in a shooting Thursday.
The incident started as a domestic dispute in the area of 36th and Jefferson. The identity of the officer has not been released at this time. The officer was transported to the hospital where he had been listed in stable condition at the hospital. He has since been released and is now at home recovering.
The officer who was struck was wearing a bullet-resistant vest at the time of the shooting. The single bullet struck below his vest and above his duty belt.
A suspect is in custody. Multiple agencies responded to the area.
