M-15 nighttime bridge beam setting scheduled in Tuscola County

TUSCOLA, COUNTY, MI – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to begin setting bridge beams on the M-15 bridge over the Cass River. Short, 15-minute road closures will be in effect across the bridge. Nighttime work is scheduled to minimize the inconvenience to motorists.MDOT

Work is progressing as scheduled on the overall project, which includes replacing the M-15 bridge. Crews recently completed constructing the bridge foundation, allowing for beam setting work to begin. This $6 million investment is expected to be completed by the end of October.

The work will benefit motorists by enhancing safety and increasing ride quality.

Motorists can expect the following restrictions:

  • Work will begin at 8 p.m. and will continue through the night.
  • Short, 15-minute road closures will be in effect on M-15 over the Cass River to allow beam setting.
  • Motorists should expect delays while waiting for bridge crews to set the beams.
  • Traffic back-ups will be allowed to clear between closures.
  • Traffic will be maintained using temporary signals once beam setting work is complete.
